Howay Out! is a free weekly guide to what's on in Newcastle and Gateshead - gigs, markets, food, family stuff and free things. It lands every Thursday with about ten hand-picked shouts for the weekend, a skint-weekend section and a rainy-day backup. That's it.

Who's behind it

Alreet, I'm Paul Clarke. Howay Out! is made in Newcastle by me, for anyone who's ever got to Saturday morning and thought "what's on, like?" Gigs, markets, food, family stuff and free things, all in one place.

I also run Black And White Boy SEO, a Newcastle SEO consultancy, which pays the hosting bills.

How picks are chosen

We pick events we'd go to ourselves, from venue listings, organisers who send things in, and good old-fashioned wandering about. Being listed is always free, and nobody can pay to get into the editorial picks.
